Description ~~~

So I was looking back over my old drawings and I came across
this one of Johnny from way back in 2005 when I was
around 15/16 years old. I remember drawing it at college
and being so pleased with myself... looking back on it
now it's sort of looks a little rubbish.

I've decided to compare it to one of the more recent drawing
I've done of Johnny, just as a sort of look at how things have
improved and hopefully will go on improving in the future.

There is always more to learn and develop as an artist and I
hope my journey continues way into the future with all the
support that you lovely people here on DA offer me

Faber Castell Pencils.

Blending stumps, tissue, cotton pads and q-tips for blending and shading.

White gel pen for little highlights in the eyes etc.

Kneaded eraser, block eraser and click-pen eraser.

Pencil's & stuff I use for portraits

truly incredible those eyes are compelling and such attention to detail a wondrous improvement but i find both portraits amazing so i can spoil myself i just wish i could capture that sensitivity and serenity present in the first picture that alone would please me .

Thanks!
Well I have been drawing since as far back as I can remember really. It's always been something I've enjoyed, but I suppose I started taking it seriously around the age of 17/18ish. I'm 23 now and there's still so much to learn but I just love the whole process of creating something from just paper and pencils, it's a really enjoyable experience I think

wow. I started that age too when I went to an art school at 17. Now I'm 22 and planning to go the accademy next year. I agree about the process of making art it's sublime. I think we have something in common. Ooops... that's why we're here in the first place (Lol)
