History:
Ariadne grew up in the tiny village of Slaidburn, Lancashire. One day when she was fairly young, a man that called himself the Doctor (12) and a woman named Clara crossed her path. She was at a fencing studio, and aliens found their way in. She used the sabre she had well, and received a small commendation from the Doctor. That experience changed the way she saw the universe forever. At 17, she got pregnant, having been far from opposed to having a good time. Her university-age sister helped get her to a clinic and schedule an abortion. She kept it secret for a long time but eventually confided in her best friend. Their friendship wasn't as strong as she thought because in a few days everyone knew. She was harassed and bullied by children and adults but mostly from the father, a boy that she didn't love or really care about. As soon as she graduated, she moved away to Cardiff. As a young woman on her own in a big city, she began to practice different forms of fighting as self-defense. She continued to explore fencing, so she took hand-to-hand combat classes and learned to weild a couple different guns.
She was happily situated in Cardiff when, out of the blue, a weird piece of equipment appeared in her kitchen. The more she looked at it, the surer she was that it was a pair of gloves. With a good amount of tinkering and fidgeting, she was able to put them on. They sent a jolt of electricity through whatever she touched, so she took them off quickly and hid them away. Very soon after, a group of people called Torchwood showed up. Grudgingly, they were fairly impressed that she had the idea that the alien tech was a pair of gloves. She was chasing them out of her flat when a weevil showed up. She'd been practicing with her throwing knives and had a few on her, so she used them. She was inducted into Torchwood.
