When we finished, we saw Cow Bot slowly rocketing toward us. He seemed a good mile and a half up ahead, maybe more. All I could see was a small black spec.

    We all gathered together.

    “Okay,” Sonic said, “when Cow Bot comes in range, Eggman will lower the forcefield. I’ll zap Cow Bot with the freeze ray. And both of you, Em n’ Tails, you go and disarm it.”

    “Got it, Sonic.” I said.

    “Alrighty! Let’s rock!” Sonic announced, and standing in line, we got into a fighting stance.

    Nothing. The black spec was still there.

    “Let’s butcher this bovine!” I said, and we still were in our fighting stance.

    The black spec remained unchanged, and we were then unamused.

    “I….think we have some time.” Sonic then said.

    “Y’ wanna go inside? I’ve got coco!” Eggman then offered.

    We were inside the lair, and we were having coco and cookies. I drank some, and I felt such a weird texture and taste, I wanted to throw it up instead of swallow it.

    “That is some interesting coco….” I said, giving an uncomfortable smile.

    “Wanna guess my secret ingredient?” Eggman said.

    “If he says love, I’m outta here.” Sonic said.

    I thought about it. “Is it nutmeg?”

    “Close. It’s actually a tablespoon of garlic powder.” Eggman said.

    “That explained both the flavor and the texture….” I said, and I put the cup down.
