Is anyone else confused or disappointed by the lack of anthro birds/reptiles? Does this mean they eat chicken and stuff?
As a matter of fact, yes! Especially since the central theme of the movie, so we've been told, is "prejudice."

Well, in an interview, the directors said they were only going to be using mammals because the type of story they were trying to tell, with its predator-vs-prey dichotomy driving the plot, would be more streamlined that way*. And I can sort of see where they're coming from; it's hard enough designing a society like Zootopia without introducing extra aspects that would complicate the backstory even more.
That doesn't rule out the possibility that anthropomorphic birds, reptiles, amphibians and other types of animals exist elsewhere in this world. But to me, the idea of having a city limited to one animal group doesn't mesh well with the movie's supposed anti-prejudice theme.
*fun fact-- they also said that there are no anthropomorphic non-human apes (chimps, gorillas, etc) in this world because that would just raise too many questions.

I am so excited about it! Finally, Disney is returning to one of the formulas where they have animals walk on two legs and act like human beings like the classics Mickey, Pooh, and Robin Hood!
(sigh) If only Blue Sky could do that, have animals that stand on two legs and act like people, then their films would be more likable.
