Whoever sewed the black robe for you did a really good job. I've seen similar costumes on eBay that were really expensive and don't look as good as yours. I guess the beauty of sewing for yourself is that you can make it exactly the way you want it. I'd make my own costumes too if I had any talent for sewing but unfortunately, I don't :/

yeah, I'm actually working on sewing the alternative gold version of Abel for the next con as well as crafting the metalwork and jewelry myself.

What do you mean by 'gold version'? You can sew too? My mom loved making clothes and tried to teach me but I was never any good at it. First time I tried, it took me a week to even set up the sewing machine right and when I finally did, sewed my sleeve right into the fabric I was working on Anyway, I also thought you did a good job on the plates; they look very real, I couldn't tell they weren't really metal just by looking at them I look forward to seeing your next outfit.

Thanks! Only the 'metal work', so the pins, armor, plates, and etc. The fabric work someone else did.

Most of it is made of craft foam, the shoulder pauldron is made from wonderflex.

It's a plastic that you can thermo-mold. Can be used to create more organic or fluid looking forms.

Oh how interesting. I thought those plates were actully made of metal I have the TB manga and I like the outfits; they look like a cross between military uniforms and clergy clothes which is really cool. But I think it strange how they only have a shoulder plate on one side instead of both like normal armor.

It's a common design for light infantry where mobility is preferred. Having one pauldron on your left side was a common setup as when two right handed combatants face each other, their left shoulder and arm would be exposed to their opponents.
