I've never heard of this species of cat before! I find something about the overall amount of fur on the cat and the cat's expression to be quite amusing.

I've actually used it for my Facebook profile picture a few times. The expression is really applicable to a lot of situations.

Thank you for the comment! This was taken in February, I think, so maybe it's the winter fur? I wouldn't really know, but the Pallas cat was definitely my favorite part of the visit! I should come in during the summer and see if I'll be lucky a second time in a row.

Interesting. Most of the time, the Pallas cats are off exhibit in the winter. This is because while there is little known about them (they live at a really high altitude, and nobody wants to study up there), we do know that they need near-complete darkness to breed, and we REALLY want to breed them.
You really should come visit again! The zoo's a great place to be and it's really hard to cover all of it in one day. It's only the 2nd or 3rd largest zoo in North America... ^.^
