EDIT: Finally fixed the neck colours. They were bugging me so much xD They're no longer a narsty rainbow mess; now it looks more like actual iridescence.

Meet Dove.

Hound Info

In my mind, hellhounds look a bit like emaciated, stretched-out wolves. Everything about them is very thin and elongated. They also have one catch: They can't gain access to their victims souls without their trust, so they can't hunt their prey in the traditional way. Instead, they have to "befriend" their victims and, over time, convince them to take their own life. Gaining their trust means gaining access to their life force, or "soul" (I love over-using quotation marks :3).And, in my mind, souls are all pretty and iridescent, so in consuming the souls the Hounds take on some of the iridescence. Namely in their mane :] If a hound has a dull, colourless mane, then you know that it's starving.

Dove Info

In Hound society, you get high status from two things: how beautiful you are, and how well you hunt. Dove is an extremely adept hunter, but unfortunately does not meet the Hound standards of beauty. Black Hounds are the highest status and most beautiful, followed by greys, and lastly the Whites. Dove, sadly, is a grey. However, through her talent at nomming souls, she's managed to snare herself a higher status mate, Black Shuck.

Now, Dove comes from a pretty odd family. Her mother, a grey, did something almost unheard of. She ran off with a White (crazy, right?). They had two children, Chester and Dove. What makes the family even stranger is that all of (excluding Dove) take a very moral approach to hunting, only killing those they feel deserve it. Dove is deeply ashamed of her family. She's the quintessential Hound: arrogant, easily offended, prone to temper tantrums, etc. Basically, not very nice. However, she is also extremely manipulative, so she can conceal all the less-than-desirable aspects of her personality with relative ease. With her brother, she can rant and rave and act like her real self, but with her "friends" and victims, she's cool as a cat. Unless she thinks that she can get away with it, that is.
