The dog doesn't look bad in my opinion and the rocks look alright. Some colour tweaking could be done, maybe add warmer tones to the rocks so that they would be more in harmony with the gold coloured dog. Bluish tones might look nice too. The snow on the rocks is a bit too shiny looking right now, I dont think there should be that much contrast between the light and dark areas in it. Snow reflects a lot of light so even in shade it doesnt get very dark.
What bothers me the most is propably the blue area on the background. It's too smooth and bright to go well with the rest of the picture and looks rather flat. You could add some brush strokes in different shades, maybe some clouds or other background objects. Try to make it look more like a sky or something else because now it looks like the dog and the rocks have been put in front of a large blue screen.

Alrighty, I've made a few adjustments on the sky and the rocks. Is it looking any better? [link]

Wow, you just pinpointed all the things that were subconsciously bugging me about this xD Thanks a lot, this is actually really helpful :]
The tip about the sky is particularly good, because it's a bad habit of mine to just put in a gradient when I'm feeling lazy. I'm doing an updated version of it now, with altered rocks and sky, and already it looks a hell og a lot better.
Thanks again! C:
