COMMON NAME: Harris hawk
IUCN REDLIST: Least concern (2008).
This hawk is found throughout North and South America. Any foudn in the wild in Western Europe are from escapees from falconries - they don't naturally occur there. This bird likes to hunt in family packs, unlike many other bird of prey who like to hunt solitary. (Yes, the one photographed is very much alive and healthy - not a stuffed one!)
