Description     Katilyn opened up her eyes to see to people sitting next to her bed. They were a boy and a girl and they both seemed about seventeen. She sat up and took a better look at their faces.

"Erik! Danielle!" She exclaimed. They both suddenly looked at her.

    "She's awake!" Erik blurted out.

"How do you know our names?" Danielle shouted.

"It's me, Katilyn!" She replied. But then she remembered, I look different. They won't know it's me! Danielle stood up. Katilyn hopped out of her bed.

"It's me I swear!" She pleaded. Danielle slammed her hand hard against Katilyn's face.

"Don't you dare try to make me think that you are Katilyn. Katilyn is dead. She died next to me. I held her hand as it turned limp. I felt her heart stop. I shed tears over her body. I waited for hours for her to wake up. I carried her to the hospital. Do not play any kind of dirty tricks trying to be her." Danielle spat, "You make me sick." She stalked out of the room.

"Wait! I can prove it! Ask me something only Katilyn would know." Katilyn called to her departing friend.

"I wouldn't waste my breath." Danielle snapped. She left for good but Erik stayed behind.

"Where did I propose to you?" He demanded, "If you are Katilyn, then only you would know that."

"You took me to your families beach house. You told your parents that you were spending the weekend at Issac's and I told mine that I was staying with Danielle. When the stars started to come out, you took me outside in the water. It was moderately warm. We laid down in the shallower area before swimming out into the deeper places. We swam all the way to the Hidden Falls. You pulled my behind the water fall to the cave behind it. Inside were dozens of candles you stood behind me and when I turned around, you were on one knee. You held the ring in the palms of both your hands. You told me that our parents had already arranged our marriage, but you loved me anyway. Asked me for my hand and I said yes. You slipped the ring on my finger then kissed me." Katilyn answered.

"How did you know all of that?" Erik was awe struck.

"Because I'm Katilyn! Do you believe me now?" She begged. Erik embraced her for a long time. He cried as she hugged him back. Danielle burst back into the room.

"Erik, you have to go your mom is her- what is going on?" She stared at them as they finished their couple's dramatic awwww moment.

"Are you okay? Why are you hugging a complete stranger with your special Katilyn hug?" She retorted.

"She wasn't lying she is Katilyn, she proved it to me." He replied.

"Okay, my turn to test her, why did Erik never have his tie on his school uniform fully tightened?" She interrogated.

"Because he thought that the idea of high schoolers having to dress up everyday just to sit through boring classes was a waste of time and money." Katilyn smirked.

"Okay, what really happened to the class ant farm in third grade?"

"You were creeped out by the thought of hundreds of thousands of insects chewing through sand right behind your head because you sat in the back row so you fed all of the ants to the Venus fly trap in the teachers lounge garden. I helped you sneak in after school with the principle's key that you swiped when you were in her office being sentenced for detention." Katilyn answered, "Now do you believe me?" Danielle ran up to her and slapped her again.

"Dammit Katilyn, lead with that next time instead of screwing with my head." Her eyes welled up with tears as she looked at her best friend.

"ERIK!" A female shout echoed through the entire building with a deafening roar.

"That's my ride. See you at school Danny, and Katilyn, stay here, I'll come back and try to figure all this out." He dashed out of the room to where his impatient mother stood waiting.

A few hours later, Katilyn was still stuck in her room. The doctor had come back, gave her a coloring book and some crayons, then left to do something else. Coloring. Really, do think I'm twelve? Oh wait, I am twelve or thirteen or whatever. Katilyn thought to herself. She flopped down on the bed and pondered her life. Everything had changed in under twenty four hours. She had to stay overnight at the hospital and if she 'continued to display need of psychiatric aid' in the morning then she would have to go talk to some therapist. How did I get into this mess again? Oh yeah, I acted stupid and got myself killed. Katilyn exhaled loudly and pulled her hair around her shoulder. She scavenged the room for some kind of hair tie. No luck. She quickly threw her black locks into a loose braid and tied a little knot on the end with a different strand.

Since being trapped in this girls body, she had met about eight people who spoke in not English and were so happy to see her miraculous recovery. Then when they realized that she had no idea what they were saying at all, they started crying and she had to comfort them. A nurse had tried to explain that they knew her as Kanade Shima. She grew up in Japan for the first six years of her life. Then when her mom died, her grandma had to move them all to America to pursue a career in financing or whatever. They had a good deal of inheritance money because both her mother and her father were totally rich and so was her grandma. Her little brother had been born about four days before she slipped into the comma. She was in this hospital when she first met him. She had been swimming and somebody started drowning. The life guard had fallen from their chair and was knocked out. She swam down rescued the person, but once they had gotten a breath and tried to pull her up, they had kicked her and her head slammed against the pool wall. Somebody else had her pulled up and called an ambulance. She woke up in the car and was perfectly fine for five days. They were about to release her but then she went into the comma.

"Wow. But none of that happened to me. I was in the woods with me friend Danielle and when I tried to jump across a ditch, I fell hard on my head and woke up in the hospital. I was awake for almost an hour, and then I died." She thought out loud. The nurse just shook her head, "We should have you meet with our psychologist." Katilyn just went back into her room and plopped onto the bed. She peered over to the clock above the door. It's already ten! I should go to sleep. She pulled the covers over her neck and up to her chin. She laid gently on her side and turned off the light next to her bed. It only took a few moments for her to drift off into a peaceful sleep.
