I just wanted to take a moment to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you have given me in life from kickass story and inspirational, lovable characters all the way to secret handshakes, nanomachine references, and "you're pretty good"/"this is a stealth mission" quotes with friends and family.
.
There is no character in this series I don't love, or at the very least appreciate in their role.
.
Over these many years my love of cinema and music has grown with your influence and my desire to write and tell my own stories had grown drastically. I work on movies for a living because of the love you gave me for them, and beyond that you gave me a path, and a hero, and a sense of self that I thought was long lost before we met.

You gave me something to believe in and, though I've tried here, there's no way to properly convey in words how much you influence truly means to me so I'll keep it simple:

Thank you Metal Gear, and thank you Hideo Kojima, for 30 years of genius and, though things have changed now and there will be no more true Metal Gear, I say cheers to another 30 years of amazing storytelling, characters, and videogameing.
