The background is perfectly fine! Something you could try is a contrasting color instead of picking up the foreground. Anyway great job!

sob, I tried using yellowish hue since grassland and all, BUT THE RED SEEMS PRETTIER KDSJSDF (what is color theory, we have hue wheel 8D)

It's the same really. If you have (as in your case) a warm red in the foreground, try selecting a cold blue/green in the background (As dark as the red is bright). I'm not saying it would be the best for your image. It has it's own brilliance, but it will bring attention straight to the foreground.
