A millenium after terraforming mars, and the inhabitants have become unrecognizable. The gravity on Mars caused the human body to lose mass, as well as bone density. The heavy UV rays from the sun blackened our eyes, and altered our skin pigments. The distortion of sound made our ears less and less prominent, and even our pinky finger was lost along the way. The simlarities to their anscestors had become so far removed that the humans still on Earth simply dubbed them "Martians". They themselves prefer the term "The Ascended"
