This is a school project based on the work of Takashi Murakami, practitioner of superflat and the man behind the cyberspace parts of Summer Wars and the first Digimon movie. He has a fascinating practice of bring low art (marketed media and such) to high art status (museum worthy), making it worth millions, and then bringing it back down to low art and mass producing it for cheap! You should look up his statues, they get pretty out there. He's done several animations as well.
