well only thing I keep in mind when drawing this kind of angle is a shape of a triangle.
Basically your character will be shaped like a triangle, depending on what angle
In this pic I used upside down >_> his head is slightly upside down triangle. I'm not really sure
of the best way to do it but this what I do ;D

i try draw like this too except my stuff is never as surreal and usually ends up as sort of a representative sort of thing. like it hints the shapes and lines that i meant to be there but I was too stupid to actually put it there.
your work is actually the "thing" in it self. it has everything there while not looking too messy.

i absolutely LOVE the perspective Kai is in. I've always tried to emulate this, but failed horribly.
But, it's like something out of FLCL, the pose. I suppose likein the third episode where this girl named Ninamori is being controlled by a Medical Mechnica monster and the monster is using her legs a lot to kick Canti. Perhaps, I am wrong though...
Another thing, it looks like an action pose where he's going to bend backwards, and start flailing his arms, and then start stabbing people quite accurately after throwing them off with his dazzling lanky bones. :3
His eyes are quite weird. It reminds me of when I used to do spinning paint art. I'm not sure if anyone else remembers those things. But, that's beyond the point. They're mesmerizing. I must say, it's probably the way you draw, the sketchiness to it. I love it... And now... I imagined Kai's eyes replaced with Hypnotoad's eyes... That'd be creepy...

Really nice piece! Caught my eye on the main page for being quite interesting! 
And to back you up on your description of the picture, I know who kimimaru is, in fact he is one of my favourite characters and I dont see any reason to call your art piece a "copy" or something else! Dont see why would it be considered a copy just because your character uses bones has its "super power"! :S
I guess people have to make up new super powers because flash uses his legs to run fast and hulk uses his arms to smash things up :\

finding something new as a power is now less interesting then an original use of hit. Strengh, as an exemple, is a commun fact for almost every hero, even flash, but they don't use it the same way.
As for your character, even if the power are a bit similar, he wouln'd, indeed, us it the same way as would the naruto character.
I like the way you color your pick and also the line you used, love it. (And I don't usually like what is on the front page, lol)
Keep on doing things like that, now I'll be doing a trip through your gallerie ^^

It's really hard to think of new ideas. Most of the time they are too common or too complicated/accessorized.
