Well, I do believe that it has been a fuggin long time since I updated with... anything. So I decided that even a pic that's based HEAVILY off a pic by a masterful artist twisted and perverted into my own pathetic image is better than nothing at all. Besides, I had inked it and scanned it, so eh.

This would be my most basic character, me in the simplest form that isn't somewhat chubby, hairy, and much too male for my personal tastes. Meet Emrys, or Anthriel if you want the fancy angelic name. Three wings, odd eyes, long wavy hair, thin rimmed glasses, the works. Didn't do all that great on the wavy bangs, but eh, I was more trying to get a passing grade in Art so that I could graduate, not create a timeless masterpeice. Besides, I had fun with it. Anyway, let's get down to business.

The original picture as some manga angel otaku might recognize is a picture of Setsuna Mudou, from Angel Sanctuary. The basic pose and most of the body structure (with some modifications to the torso, arms, and wings) are almost traced from the pic, but the rest is all my own doing. The outfit was a design idea I got from reading volume 18 of X/1999 (Kamui of Earth has fashion sense up the friggin whazoo) that I meant to make look cool in my own modified design. Didn't work out as good as I'd hoped. And the inking process... ugh. This is why I try and avoid tracing stuff. I suck at tracing, for cryin out loud. That's just sad. But then, I never said I was a great artist. Meh.

Now that I've torn apart the most painfully obvious flaws of my work, besides of course the lack of color offering details of what differentiates the wings from one another, I guess I'll do a very brief lil rundown on the physical description of what I intended my character to look like.

Around 5 foot 10, kinda scrawny, androgynous (or hermaphrodite if you prefer that term) with little to no body hair, frame a blend of male and female with somewhat narrow shoulders and slightly larger hips but not fully feminine, if that makes any sense whatsoever. Not all that pretty, unless you like the plain simplistic type of beauty an effeminate guy or a tomboy has. Long wavy hair with bangs that frame the face and can hide the eyes when shi tucks hir chin in, the rest usually pulled into a ponytail or braid. Hair color... still not 100% decided. But I am seeing some dark violet in there. Anyway, eye color is a lil neat. Sorta a weird Marilyn Manson thing going here. The right eye is has a black iris and a white pupil, while the other has a white iris (with a thin corona of black around it) and a black pupil. The old yin yang, seed of darkness in light, and vice versa, etc, shtick. Usually disguised with contact lenses, which are a kind of army green.

The wings and the forehead thingy are a bit more technical. Wings are HUGE, each around twice as wide as shi is tall, so basic wingspan is around 23 something feet. But can be shrunken to standardized angel size (each as long as the figure is tall) Left one's angel wing, so all white and silver. Right one's black and very dark (almost black) purple interior, and of course a devil wing. Middle one... best way I can describe it as is a clear bit of flesh in the shape of a wing with all sorts of colors of lightning arching throughout the interior like blood through a network of veins. At least, when powered up. Otherwise, pretty much clear with gray "veins" all through it. Symbolizing half angel and half devil but still more than just that. Eh. I'm tired so I'll quit the wing description there.
The forehead mark... well normally it's something I got off a necklace I bought at an amusement park (I'll sketch and show later) but when going power mode it can either become a third eye (like shown, the iris steel gray without a pupil) or a type of kirin horn (wil eventually show along with the mark design) which shows severe pissed off battle mode. When it's just the mark, it's usually hidden with makeup or headgear.

When it comes to peircings/markings (besides the forehead mark of course) shi's somewhat dull. One in each lobe of those half elven pointed ears, and a naval, but I'm debating nipple and (just possibly) genital peircings. Besides that, not much to really say. Most fancy appearence stuff I prefer to stick to things that are changable like my mood. Namely clothes and accessories. *yawns* Yeah I know, near to tears dull, right? Well, that's about all that I've got for now. I'll have to work on more stuff sooner or later. Especially gifts for nice people I met on DA and more accurate pic references for both my elven and my furry forms.
