Description Yay, finally something new to put up! Well, I actually could have posted this months ago, but when I first finished it I hated it. It has kind of grown on me now though.

I'm still not satisfied with the eyes though. I think I overworked them beyond repair.

This was an art assignment. The directions where to draw a simplified, stylized ink drawing. It could have been of anything, but I chose a portrait.

I want to say this was done on a slightly warm grey tinted paper, but my camera screwed it up more than usual. I tried fixing it in photoshop, but just ended up making it look worse. So here is the unedited version.

Done with pens and a black marker for the hair and shirt.
Took somewhere under 10 hours.

I've never heard of him, but I just looked him up and I think it might actually be him haha. I just chose a random picture from a magazine, so it's possible.

Wow! I was looking at examples of stylized ink for art class and realized I recognized this! You probably have no idea who I am but I'm currently in Art 3 at EC. This is our current project! Any ways I'm Allie Morris and you were pretty much a huge inspiration for me last year. And I sound totally creepy right now! But I just love your pencil portraits (Especially the one you gave Ms. Kennard) And I learned a lot about portraits by looking at your work. So this is pretty cool to find you on dA. And thank you! You've taught me a bunch!

Ahhh sweet! That's awesome, and not creepy in the slightest haha. I'm really glad my drawings helped you. I can't picture you, but I would probably recognize you if I saw you, and your name sounds familiar. How is EC going, and how is Ms. Kennard doing?

EC is good, freezing with the weather though. Ms. Kennard is as crazy and fun as always! Though we are currently readying for scholastics so shes starting to get stressed.

The eyes seem a little overworked indeed, it was one of the first things that caught my eye (no pun intended)
Hoever I think it is a nice picture and what you did very well is the use of textures to divide the areas. Very nice!

Ugh, yeah, I definitely overworked them. That's the bad thing about ink, once you put a line down, there's no going back.

Thanks for the nice comment .

I really like the detailing and stylization. Nice line work. The face is well rendered. Great job with the hair too.
