A project I'd like to embrace this year is learning to draw... I've been sketching idly to get my drawing brain a little more aligned like it was back in high school, and here are some of the early results, a few pages from my sketchbook!

1. This is supposed to be Jacob Geller, a youtuber I like who I coincidentally was watching anyway so I used him as a reference. Obviously a reference is imperfect if he is moving, but it was still a fun exercise. When I draw from life it feels like I need to do one sketch that looks completely awful just to figure out where things are, and then I can draw additional sketches that are more relaxed and getting the hang of it... The jenky sketch is on the right there and the more relaxed one is on the left, which is easy to tell for me but who knows how that'll be tomorrow lol.

2. Ikkit the Wanderer from Those Who Went Missing! Funky little guy, I'm a fan.

3. This was just playing around, drawing a face and then other shapes. It looked like a weird doll, so that's what it became. He's kinda creepy...?

4. Ishbor, my first esk! Again from Those Who Went Missing. I would like to draw him in some more high effort pieces, but for now he's been lumping around my sketchbook.

5. Random anime face. I like to just doodle faces haha

6. More playing. This page was kind of half journal half art-adjacent, mostly just because I wanted to do something with my hands. It looks angstier than I meant it to be because I was intentionally trying to use trash LOL The "paint" is old nail polish and just coincidentally the colors I had. The red and black came out so goth, but I kind of dig it.

7. And finally more Ishbor! I might try to build some of these sketches into something more finished. Lazy guy.
