Description Spring 1984, the army of Oceania are bloody and battered by the ruthless forces of Eurasia. despite the long war, the troops spirits are high, there is a rumor that chocolate rations will go up. As they march toward the front, their minds chant there motto..
war is peace
freedom is slavery
ignorance is strength.

so first things first, this is only an test/experimentation piece. i am trying to go for a George Orwell "1984" vibe. I just wanted to test some techniques out, before i started work on a bigger sized base to house the tank and mech. all in all i am happy with the overall results, and learned a few things that will help me out as i plan and build a base. overall the 8 figurines and base took me about 4 days.

The Elements

The Figurines: i painted these guys how i normally do, but this time i was much faster. i finally have a good system down and was able to make all 8 in about two days. i had two packs of Dragon ww2 German solders, that i got free with some mini arts kits. and the siting solder is from a Tamiya German tank crew at rest.
The Base: i tried out devilsreject493 method of making bases [link] [link]
and i was a pretty fun little process. i added dyed sheet moss, and some real rocks. overall i was very happy with the results, and will be using this process on my next base.
The Building:lol the building is actually a plaster of pairs cast, of a mini arts building i have. this came out ok, and i had to carve out the details, but i cant complain. lol only problem was when i went to do a photo shoot yesterday, the building fell off and broke in like 4 places. after some cursing, i was able to repair the damage, and add more weathering to hide the mistake. the lesson i learned is next time make pins on the building to attach to the base.
The Posters: i added some 1984 propaganda posters. i just found them on Google images, printed them out, damaged them, and dusted them in pastels. here is a link to the ones i used, all rights and credit go to the original artists

so thanks everyone for looking, hope you enjoy it. and feel free to leave questions and comments. ill be more than happy to answer them!

"1984" is the work of George Orwell.

Another good piece of work. The sad thing is you barly can see how much effort you put within this diorama.
The new method of making the ground looks awesome and quiet realistic as well. The wall is very well done in my opinion as well because it looks so damaged and is matching the setting itself pretty much.
The figurines are looking very realistic as well especially the wounded soldier in the forground.
The propaganda posters are just rounding of the setting.

Mayb it is just me but I would use next time more bigger plaster-rocks, it looks in my mind to uniform but this is just my personal opinion.
Also the picture(photo) seems a little bit blurred in max. zoom

OH. MY. GOD. An Oceania themed diorama?! Brilliantly painted. Love the use of the Feldheer officers. I'd buy this.

Ah 1984, on of my all time favorites. Also this diorama is awesome, the lack of bright colors and the injured and defeated look of the soldiers really reinforces the distopian vibe, good work.

thanks dude! 1984 is one of my all time favs as well.
both figure packs were free with a couple of mini arts kits, and i didn't realy have a plan for them, but thought that this would be a neat diorama.

Love 1984. Always got the impression that the "wars" with Eurasia and Eastasia was mostly (if not entirely) fabricated, but this still captures the general weary brokenness of of the people in the world of 1984. The posters are a really nice touch and make it even more realistics.

thanks dude!
loved 1984 as well, and got the same impression about war. war was just anther means of control.
but with this one i kinda went against what i concluded in the book, and decided to to go with the what if.
