Behold! The Peacock Dress!This beauty took over 100 hours and has been something I've wanted to make since I saw the costume design. So I was very excited when I was commissioned to do it!
As the materials really speak for this elegant gown, I worked with @daae-dancer93 (who commissioned me) to find the perfect materials. She found the blue satin and I found the matching crinkle chiffon. Together we looked for Black AB appliques and beading to complete the ensemble.
The necklace was a simple one that she purchased and I altered with a few new pieces, some old gems I had in stock, and some beading from the dangling trim to tie it all in.
Counting the feathers as 2 rows, there are actually 10 rows in the skirt, as some of them have hidden taffeta and netting ruffling under them to give them even more oomph.
The back closes with both a zipper (for easy in and out) and a corset (for adjustability) which was a tricky thing I learned for this commission. It's lined inside with some Wishing Fabric remnants I had, and steel boned. There are two netting petticoats underneath the skirt, and a hidden loop for carrying the train.
