It's so fun!
Dawn dish soap, water, corn syrup and sugar.
You can find places on the web with the exact mixture, but make sure it's bellow 25 F I have the best luck around 15-18 F because it seems like it's not so cold where they freeze before you can capture the actual happenings and it's cold enough where it works fast enough where you don't have to freeze yourself before it happens. Oh hell, you will freeze who am I kidding. lol

I think you better act fast on the focus at that temperature, it will freeze over before you can say boo!
I wish you luck and can't wait to see the results!

100 ISO, I typically shoot almost everything in this. The camera picks up enough lighting even in low lit areas that I don't need a high ISO usually.

I use 200 or varying ISOs, at a wedding its auto ISO without flash, with flash 200. Sometimes you do not have time to mess about with menus. your camera is a good all rounder. Ive got a D100 and D200 that still work as well. I use the D300s as my other D300 went over 135,000 images, its started to lock up on every 35 pics or more, its the shutter. I could repair it but to be honest it would be a nightmare.

Yeah it really depends on the lighting, situation and what you are going for.
I started out with a Canon Rebel and my ex broke it on the first day by taking it out in the rain when we went to Alaska, so that really sucked considering I never got to really try it out.
Then I got a Nikon D3000 to replace that and it lasted for a couple of years, my dumb ass left it sitting on the kitchen table, not expecting company to come over and knock it off the table... so much for that one.
So then I got another one of the same camera and I just used that so much that the wear and tear just took a major tole on the camera and it stopped working, now I have the D3300 and it works a lot better then either of the others.
I love how fast it is and the clarity of the images, don't usually have to do to much post processing with this one, however I'm looking for extra lenses so I can take my photos to another level again.
That really sucks that you lost all of those images, I know how that is.. I've lost a lot myself and it's never fun.
My very fist camera was a film one, that was 20 years ago, it was a piece of crap disposable kodak. But it was not to bad considering it was a starter camera for a 12 year old and it's what I owe my start to.

I had one of those, a Kodak box brownie with throw away flash inserts. showing my age here lol. I used to use film cameras a Canon AE1 A1, Olympus OM10 OM40 OM1, Rollei SL35E, Rollei B35, etc My digtials are a Nikon V1, D100, D200, D300, D300s, Nikon D800E Got loads of lenses. (Olympus Pen EPM1, which i am going to sell) Its got a very low shutter count like new in the box.)
The Canon rebel was a very good camera, what a shame it got broken on the 1st day, you must have been gutted. The D3000 is still good. I prefer DX to full frame because they are cumbersome. I like the D800E but i only use it for weddings. Shame about knocking it off the table, its no worse than tripping over with it, tough wood ive not done that yet. Well to be honest i nearly did at a hand fasting, it was in Chamber woods in the Lincolnshire wolds set on a circle. I had to walk backwards, but not thinking its not a wedding aisle whch is straight, i nearly tipped over the logs with my 2 cameras. Luckliy I gained my footing. As for lenses the Sigma 18-250mm zoom is a good all rounder. The Sigma 10-20mm is good for landscapes and architecture. I have not lost those pics on Flickr as i have them backed up on DVD and HDs here. I ve only lost the uploading time. Did you see any images on there. Here is the current link below

After Feb 2019 they will deleted to just 1000 images

lol maybe just a little.
Those are all great vintage cameras, can make great props, I often buy a lot of them at garage sales for cheap just to have as decorations around the house or for props.
Yeah I don't know how good it was, never got to try it and yeah it is a shame, would have liked to experiment a little on that one, I don't think they sell it anymore.
I don't know a lot about a lot of those cameras you have mentioned, I'll take your word for it.
Thankfully you kept you gained your footing back and did not damage anything at that time.
Also good thing you never lost those pics, always a great idea to back up your stuff on a portable device, I use a Seagate 4TB it holds a ton and have not lost a photo since I started using it, but I used to loose them all the time when the computers would crash and go to the screen of death, which mean death for anything on my computer and that sucks when that happens.
Nope I have not had a chance to look at the recent ones, I was busy post processing some photo's I took today, got better ones now that the lighting come out and decided to play nice. I'll be looking at them soon.

The old film cameras make good props. As computers go you can recover from a screen of death using PE tools, ive done that myself when some of mine start to die. Seagate drives are ok, but i prefer western digital, they have a 3 years guarantee.
If you have your old drives and computers put the disk in and boot to PE environment, the menu will give you a list off tools to copy recover etc. If the drive is not found then you might have a problem, if the file table is damaged you can try to fix it and then recover files. Google photos is another option its free for backup, but they are compressed. Storage on the net s getting very expensive these days.

Yeah I think my old ones that I lost are actually gone. There was this guy that said he could retrieve them for me, I was ignorant and let him take the hard drive... never heard back from him and never received the hard drive back either.

Thats a shame, if the computer can find it in the bios fine, or if you plug it into a caddy and its there good, you can use computer management to find them if they do not show in my my pc

The very early versions of Coca cola have cocaine in it. No wonder they took it out, people being spaced out all the time lol

Yeah I know, also it can eat cement away if it sits on it long enough. I think if it can do that and the thought that they used to have coke in them and probably still do to some extent... well it's not something I will drink or allow m y children to drink.

Thank you, I'm still working on achieving better, the lighting is out now and I am going to go and take advantage of it and find a way to make it more unique.
But first a good warm cup of COFFEE. hehe
