I really didn't want this to come out as bitter as it did, but I get into "Girl Power" mode occasionally. I often get tired of being mistreated as a girl or watching my friends get hurt and taken advantage of. The past several weeks I've witnessed abuse in every form, not just in my life, but a lot of people around me have been crying on my shoulder. Whether it's a relationship or a work situation, I see girls in pain.I wish I could give each one of you a hug and tell you it's going to be okay. I wish I could tell girls who are hurting to stop feeling hurt.
If you're in a relationship where a guy is not giving you all you need, please step away from it or see a counselor to make it work. There is no reason to ever settle. You're worth more! Never think otherwise. Your life partner does not define you. You are always your own person.
And I'm here if you ever need to vent or talk it out.
Life is short and has so much to offer, so make it the best life ever! Only you can achieve your own happiness.
This is a poem I wrote to channel these feelings that are coming from so many of you and myself in a more encouraging direction. It's also my first attempt at doing anything with typography, so if you're a pro at that, please let me know how I can make this better.

EDIT: I feel like this message might have come off as out of hand sexist. The "you" I speak to in this piece is an abuser. I didn't even specify anything about this being against men. This is not about ALL men. I have nothing against guys. I have great men in my life, but I speak as a girl about my experience of being objectified in specific situations because of my gender. I didn't want to have to explain this since art is about your personal interpretation, but I do not want to hurt anyone - especially guys. This is very personal and I wanted to share it as an art piece. I also wanted this to become a mantra for girls who need to recognize how strong they are. I am grateful for all the feedback and I'm still going through all the comments. Thank you everyone for your responses and/or support, I love hearing what you have to say!

This is your personal wish. To me, "equal or greater value" means that someone else is "equal or lower value". Comparatives leave not much room to interpretation. If something is "greater", something else is "smaller". Period.

This always falls on deaf years; those of us that take it seriously feel emasculated and the men whom this is directed at could care less.

When women stop rewarding men for bad behavior, then those men will start to listen.
I've seen women gyrate to the most abusive, most inconsiderate, most immature men. Something happens, she vents, and then returns right to him.
As a Hispanic I see this all the time in my culture. A woman rants about her drunk spouse and then loves him the next night. When a woman comes up to me, the first thing she asks is "do you drink", I say no, and she turns around and walks the other way.

Great little description.
But that still doesn't change how disgusted I am with the "of greater or equal value" part. You can create a "mantra for girls" without putting down men in the process. Giving individuals false ideas that they are better than everyone else is not empowering, it is misleading and WRONG on so many levels.

No... Stick with equal, but when you say "greater or equal" it makes you sound really egotistical. To say "you're not better, you're equal or lesser to us" makes you just as bad as the men this is obviously directed at.
Rest is fine though, except maybe beautiful, that's such a subjective word I think you'd be better off using "Proud" or "Independent", it gets the message across better.
