This map was made on the premise of minimizing bordergore, so its borders are hardly realistic. If I followed, say, the 1995 referendum, the border would be an absolute mess.

It's highly unlikely Canada would retain the entire south shore. That said, it's essential in keeping the country connected between Ontario and the Maritimes, and given Canada is the bigger power, it might be plausible. Definitely would be a mass exodus for francophones living there.

I gave Vaudreuil-Soulanges to Ontario since it's on their side of both rivers.

There is an argument to made for Laval going to Quebec. The referendum certainly favored it.

I also put the old Labrador/Quebec border because it's nicer lol.
