This ancient species of Growlithe once roamed the old lands of Sinnoh, back it when she was once known as The Hisui Region. This vigilante and brave Pokémon had rather soft fur which helped them keep warm from the cold climate of Hisui and they also sported a stone horn on the top of their mane for offense, though the horn could shatter if it was used recklessly, so they would only use it when sure it could be useful.

In the past these ancient Growlithe would travel in packs of 2, as to ensure that they'd could maintain visual on any potential opponents. Though due to their time spent being apart from humans, Hisuian Growlithe had to be tamed over a long period of time in order for them be allowed near humans. The most difficult part of taming a Hisuian Growlithe was trying to make sure that it wouldn't charge at you with it's horn or let it use Ember.
