told to wait then tied down.
Threads of red tentively carved onto them,
then cast away to ward off a common foe threatening her people;
Tonight,
they lay awake in silence.
"There!"
Torn apart, cast away the shadow moves its hunger,
teeth loudly snapping
twisting bone and flesh;
talons covered in blood
tearing and shredding!
Tickling its tongue, the taste of death: Bitter sweet.
Tonight,
the beast will lay satisfied,
and become still,
once again...
