EDIT: Do not take what you're seeing above as unshakeable canon pertaining to Ree's eventual comic. This was done for fun, for creativity's sake, and to imagine a possibility of what might happen after the story events take place. Just a heads up!As requested by some of the folks who commented on the Lilith version ([link] ).
And yes, her hair gets darker as she ages, your eyes aren't fooling you. In her original design she had flat black hair but, as with all my concepts, they are in a constant state of flux. Least till I get them the hell out there all published-like. XD

Quite easily actually, especially if the child only had a trim to cut off dead-ends since birth. Mine was about that long, and I HAD my hair cut to my chin when I was three.

Just saying, Ree's change in hair color would actually make sense. Being out side in the sun makes hair lighter. Ree's attitude towards isolationism and assumed lack of out door activity would actually darken her hair. My hair is the same. It gets darker in winter months and brighter in summer months. I friend of mine also experiences this. Her hair is so thick, the upper layer of her hair is much lighter than the bottom. It gives her natural highlights!
