Next up in the Terraria boss concepts, the Beast.One of my favorite boss battles in recent history was with the juggernaut of Monster Hunter Tri, Jhen Moran. And I always loved the idea of having to actually 'board' a creature in order to defeat it. Hence the Beast!
Definitely an endgame scenario. Not only do you have to worry about him submerging into lava while you're on top of him, his magma rock attacks, and the attacks of the imps he summons (with a terrible screech) around him, but you can't even hurt the damn thing until you open up a section of its body with a pick. (And only Nightmare or above works.)
The rewards, of course, would have to be very high. I thought an Obsidian armor set would look very neat, but the real prize would be crafting a scythe weapon.
Yes, yes. Scythes are one of the most impractical, overused, clichΓ© not-even-really-a-weapons of all time. And you know what. I freaking love 'em. So DEAL I SAY, DEAL.

what if all of them were implemented and all three had a piece of armor it gave, like one gave a helmet, one gave a chestplate and one gave greaves.
I would have an actual stroke. AND LIKE THERE WOULD BE SLIGHT DIFFERENCES IN CRAFTING (the spawn item) TO GET THE OTHER ONES HHHH

I like the lava croc best, but maybe give it some ribs and front legs to make it seem less serpent like

why do I think the grub version is somewhat cute... it's a giant freaking worm (that was drawn amazingly btw)... Wonder what else the idle side of my brain puts into the 'cute' category...
My favorite version though is the ledge head, 11/10 very wow

I had to laugh a little when I read the "Big Disgusting Grub Abomination" part. That is description at its finest right there. And yes. Fire Imps are terrible. And I love the way the "Lava Croc" looks. Oh, if only things like this existed in the game...

If only this was a canon hardmode boss. Instead of Obsidian Gear and Molten Sole (we have Obsidian Armor and Lava Waders now) it could probably drop some sweet loot.

This is an amazing idea I'd like to see a boss in Terraria where you have to climb on it and mine through to actually do anything to it.Β

I really wish they did exist, Since "The Beast" reminds me of Jan Mohran from MH Tri (Yes, I am a very Avid Monster hunter pro) And I'd like to really love to ride on that bad boys back and mine to get any viable weak points to come up!
