Did you come up with your building method (cardboard & hotglue) or did you follow the tutorials/get inspiration from Featherweight?

Yes, they are inspired by featherweight. But that's what started me about 6 years ago xD I've come up with my own style and the method I used is different then those in his tutorials.

wow, beautifully done! And just made out of cardboard? I hate to ask, being a cosplayer myself (and these sorts of comments tend to get iritation over and over) but how on earth did you get it so nice and shapely? It looks amazing!

Well I used the cardboard to get the main shape of the sword then I used hot glue to shape the edges of the blade to give it a sharp look. And to give it a smooth finish I used paper clay.

talent. I'm impressed. Oo I'm making my own out of craft foam and have to use a dremel to get the shapely look to it. The angles edges are seperate pieces of cardboard glued and then the whole thing is coated in paper mache?

The blade is made out of 3 layers of cardboard. The middle layer is about 2 and a half inches wide while the other two layers about about an inch and a half. The side of the blade is shaped out of hot glue to give it a sharp look. It's finished with spreading paper clay( not paper mache) over the blade then sending it to give it a smooth look.
