I feel like I haven't really given your props on how friggn' AMAZING that is.
As a person who slightly obsessively tries to draw her favorite TV characters/people I saw on the bus/Classmates/friends/...Jon Stewart...*cough*....Uh, I am just green with envy at how you got the features-AND that certain dangerous look about Bodie down to a tee.

Really, I am wibbling right now. I want to bear you children.

Like everyone else, I'm commenting on the eyes. There's such an intensity behind them. I love the expression though, a content smile to hide something...to hide that he's really working something out in his mind, a plan or something. I don't know, some dark. I love it. Good job.

Thank you so much for the detailed comment! Yeah... Lew has that kind of mischievous look, I tried to catch it in the pic and it seems that it worked.
Oh and thank you for the watch!

I love the fact that the eyes are "crisper" than the rest of the drawing. It really calls attention to them and as they say "window to the soul".

Excellent work.

It's Phillip Mark - the Butcher of Lincoln, the new Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin of Sherwood - Season 3 - "The Sheriff of Nottingham!!! Essentially, the current Sherrif of Nottingham is fired by the King for his continued failure to cpature Robin Hood and his men, and Phillip Mark (Collins) is brought in to replace him, based on his reputation for being cruel and harsh in his punishments. If you haven't seen the series, do it...you'll really love it.

Now - as to the drawing -
This is really fantastic!!! You REALLY captured those unique qualities that make Collins stand out...those eyes...dangerous, brooding, mischevious...
Very well done...I give you extra points because of the person as well...definitely adding this tot he faves list. I'm also going to post a note on the Robin of Sherwood discussion group with a link to this....

It's great that other people remember Lew as the "Butcher of Lincolnshire" as well. *grin*
As you have found out by yourself, I'm also a huge Robin of Sherwood fan! I have only done the Robert of Huntingdon-pic so far, but I intend to do more ROS art sooner or later.
Anyway, thank you so much for your comment! I was actually a Lew fan before I became a ROS-fan, because I loved him as Bodie in "The Professionals" when I was young. I was so thrilled when he appeared as "Philip Mark" in ROS!
BTW: I have a whole webpage dedicated to Lew in case you're interested:

Oh and thanks for the fave!

the eyes are particularly good, real, however, that does demand the rest of the pic to keep up with the eyes as well..they seem to have the darkest shadings of the whole pic, my guess is that if the overall shading is a little darker, esp on parts of the hair and under the chin, it would be more 3 dimentional..^^ but i love this pic, even though i don't know who he is, it makes me feel as if he's gonna talk to me in the next second

Thank you so much for the detailed comment, it's very much appreciated! I agree with you, it's one of my problems to keep the shading at one level so to speak... but that problem is also enhanced by my stupid scanner. *sigh*
Anyway, thanks!

You are too young to remember the "Professionals", heck I was 8 when it was shown on German television for the first time. But thank God for the DVD - bought the complete box last year and got hooked on the lads again. To me it's one of my all-time favourite British TV-shows!

Remember in "The Cross of St.Ciricus" the two beggars the Abbot says are Professional Beggars? Apparently that was intended as a nod towards "The Professionals"...
Never seen the series myself, but apparently one or both of the two beggars were in the "The Professionals".

Yes, you're right. That "professional beggar" was Martin Shaw and his "apprentice" was Shaw's son!
