This is a cool little design you got goin on dude I like it. It definitely seems like a low-tier common enemy you'd see in some sort of game perhaps. The inclusion of the different color palettes you experimented with are a nice touch as well. Perhaps depending on the setting this little guy would be found the color could fluctuate accordingly. One thing I noticed is that it seems like you picked the bottom left version to flesh out some more. Though in your more fleshed out version it feels like the bud lost some of that saturated color the smaller sketch had. It's not necessarily a downgrade but I think sticking more true to the initial idea would have been better in this case. I'd imagine you also played with body types as well and it'd be cool to see those as well. Mostly because I'm not a huge fan of the current body this creature has it just seems quite out of place. Maybe in its proper setting or world it would make more sense but standing by itself there's not too much interest with the simplicity of his body. Personal taste though.
