Maybe after Pink Diamond 'shattered', White took Pink Pearl from Pink Diamond, and then Pink Pearl started doing stuff for White.
Just a theory though, maybe we'll find out what REALLY happened to her in the special! ^^

I get that it's a theory but that wouldn't be possible. White Pearl (Our Pearl) was given to Pink Diamond before she was "shattered" confirming that Pink Pearl was given to White before.
