Either you have an insanely long pencil or you just made some nice use of a wide angle lens. You've managed to focus on the tip itself as well I see, not on (a common error) the part where graphite meets wood.
I think the white balance might be sliiiightly off though - the background looks a bit of a funny colour. Too much yellow? Or is it noise perhaps? I can't really tell. You might want to make miniscule adjustments to the colour balance and see what happens.
Nice picture though. This would look great on a greetings card, perhaps a "good luck for your exams" one.

well actually, it was a regular sized pencil, and this photo was taken with a point and shoot.

Well the fact you got this from a P&S is even more commendable! I see it was taken at 6mm from the info on the right - that must be why it's so distorted
