Description
The girl is made with the Gradient meshtool in Illustrator CS and the background (earth and water) is made with a filter in Photoshop.I dont know about the lightning but i think it turned out ok.. !?

EDIT: I changed the picture. I changed the lightning on the girl and the hand is more visible.

i agree totally about the earth... it could be a bit bigger and more realistic with more depth and all that. her right arm is entirely too light and i kind of wish the whole peice were moved a bit up in the composition. It's good to have a subject "sitting" on the bottom of a frame, but i think it's a little too close for comfort.
Very nice work with the mesh tool though. I aspire to your level of ability with it.

I was about writing near the same words that humanskin. I agree with him.
But I also think that the full image is a very beautiful scene. And that those are probably the best vectorial clothing effects I have ever seen.

Actually i did a couple adjustments on it. Did some about the hand and the whole lightning on the girl..i will change the devation right away so check it out soon!

It's hard to tell. Maybe the dress should be a little bit darker at the bottom. But I'm just speculating.
And about the water I think that darkening a little the farthest part would make it look deeper.
On the other hand, you probably had already made too many corrections to a good artwork. I probably would feel a little bit tired of changing/trying things on the same image.
By the way, I think that this version looks better than the B&W one (in fact, I usually prefer color versions). But you are right, the shading in the black and white planet looks more realistic (like a 3D sphere).

went to go and comment on the other one, but it was gone.....
anyway....
really nice work on the dress, that's for sure.....
some parts of the skin look unfinished and plasticy..
also, some of the curves, particularly on the hands look too sharp...
i think you should have done abit more with the hair too.....
as far as the earth....
perhaps lowering the opacity of the terrain would help it mesh into the ocean's abit better
and blurring it overall to show that it's in the background of the pic would be better too...
perhaps also reducing the opacity of the glow around it, so that it blends nicely into the darkness is good...
maybe also add a few stars??

also, pretty good, maybe casting more of a direct light on the front of her dress and face would be good though...
