the inedible cake ingredients are garnishes for the cake, so they do not necessarily have to be used/eaten.

Apparently there was going to be a "Morgan Freeman sphere" too in the original Portal 2 gameplay. It supposedly possessed extraordinary wisdom, although it was confined in a 20x20 chamber. It's sad they left quite a few these cores out, they're all so cool. :0
Random core facts aside, I love this piece! The way you have it all lined up makes it seem like this would be an actual banner pasted on the walls of Aperture. Very nice!

I remember seeing the Flashlight Core hanging above the cage of dead cores, I had seen people play it before, but I had never seen it. It struck me as something that a lot of people probably paid no mind to if they even saw it at all. All I remember thinking was that I would've loved to hear this guys story.

Just curious bout the 'unused' core over there....
I believe you know that Wheatley was going to be called 'pendleton'. Well, based on what i heared, that 'unused' core is supposed to be Pendleton. Which means that Wheatley was supposed to be red instead of blue.

Well, I've heard about the Pendleton thing, but I never make the link between that red core and the early Wheatley concept.
Good point anyway!

infact thay are like that because of corruption and this line up should not even exist

Sorry for making things I like from a game I played.
It's just a line up of all Cores seen in both Portal games. Corrupted or not.
I don't understand what I did wrong, and what you meant in your comment.

its not that its bad its just plays out its self as manditoryt cores when they are actualy corrupted
a failure to comunicate is all it is

What's wrong with showing corrupted cores and normal ones in the same pic?
My goal was to show all know cores, I never mention that they were all sane.
The comment below them show "personality core", and that's what they are.
I don't see any "failure".

SecminourTheThird In reply to V--R [2011-12-10 23:40:07 +0000 UTC]
Well, the Unused core is from one of those portal things from in between Portal 1 and 2. Something like The last Hours of Portal 2. And the Party Escort Bot is mentioned by GLaDOS in the first game during the escape, and he also appears, unseen,in the updated ending of Portal 1,where he drags you away across the parking lot back into the facility, which is how you end up in a relaxation vault at the beginning of Portal 2. The appearance for him that Eniotna chose here is from the Lab Rat comic, which describes the tale of Doug Rattman, the last surviving scientist who helps Chell survive and has several 'dens' throughout both games.

Does the unused core have any real history is it just something in the background completely?

SecminourTheThird In reply to V--R [2012-01-15 22:03:21 +0000 UTC]
I've seen it before~ It was in one of those portal-related in-between things in between Portal and Portal 2. Re-reading this information from the wiki,
Here's the page: [link]
And here's a direct link to the picture: [link]
The picture,as the wiki page on the cores says,is from the Final Hours of Portal 2.

I couldn't find anything on that core in the cores wiki you linked xD. It sucks though cause the game would've been funner if they had included different new cores in each section like they were going to. Imagine all the game history you could learn from it ^w^

SecminourTheThird In reply to V--R [2012-01-16 20:11:19 +0000 UTC]
Ah,it's not in the main list with the main cores,it's just somewhere low on the page where it's just briefly mentioned, with that picture I linked to next to it. Nothing big,it was just a core removed from "The Final Hours of Portal 2".
