yeah, i know that the mythology behind the game is fake, but I don't think Caine nor the 13 clans really exist, and they were never mentioned in vampire lore, the whole Cain being associated with vampires idea was started because of this game, but no vampire lore i have read (and I even own an encyclopaedia of vampire lore and fiction and have being researching vampires for thepast few years now) has mentioned the Camarilla, the sabbat or any vampire clans.

You would be correct. 90+ percent of the aspects of Vampire: the Masquerade were created for the purpose of playability in the game, and very few things in the game are actually based off mythology (blood-drinking, nocturnal unlife, ageless immortality, etc).

Mmn, WOD has alot of vampire mythology wrong...
The only truths really behind it would be caine and the fact that their _are_ 13 clans... as well as some other stuff, alot of of they just made up on the go, from my understanding.
