Why can't I feel? Cho thought, sitting on a precipice in the early morning light. I've drawn blood, but I still can't feel anything... she would have been distressed, but she couldn't feel that, either. She knew she should have been raging, melancholy... dying... but she felt nothing. What kind of cold-hearted monster was she? Her kin had disappeared, and she knew they were going through unimaginable torment every moment of the sunflight... but still she was hollow. Deep down, she knew it was because of this that her soul had rotted to its current state. As she looked at her black, decaying claw, she thought: am I Sora?

I named this picture 'Numb' after the song by Linkin Park. But I also called it that because she IS numb. The dragon is Cho, who I usually use to represent me. Here, she's numb both emotionally and physically. You know, like when your foot falls asleep and you can't feel anything, how at first you rub it, then you stratch it, then you pinch it? Well, she's got it a lot worse. The claw marks across her throat, chest, and stomach are all self-inflicted. Thus, she has blood on her claws. The thing on the right is what she's turning into, since she can't feel anything emotionally anymore either. You probably can't see it, but scraped out on the cliff next to her is the lyrics to 'Numb'. And by the way, Cho can be taken to mean 'butterfly' or 'beast', and Sora can be taken to mean 'sky' or 'void'. (Japanese.)

Anyway, sunflight is the day's course. And Sora is the thing behind her. Her wings are bleeding because... it looks cool, that's why. ^^

Done in graphite and colored pencil (prismacolor!!!8D) but since my scanner screwed up the colors, I brightened them a little on the computer. ^^
