I saw a lot of fly pics today... and more than a few times I had the thought, " you need to understand it's hard to make a fly pic sing"

Indeed it is, and very few people realize that. Β Flies are tough to make interesting, but these guys have been hanging around my house, and their big red eyes really caught my own eye. Β I shot the hell out of this one (he had a harmed wing so made for a great subject), but there were few shots that were even worth keeping. Β This particular stack worked, shot from straight on, a simple 2 shot stack around 3x life size. Β The facets in these eyes remind me of horsefly facets because of their large size.
