I've been shooting so much I can hardly keep up, so sorry for all the uploads lately. Bugs are coming back quickly, and spring always brings massive skies and sunsets which keep me running - and then editing well into the night. This shot shows a technique I'm really starting to fall in love with. I set up the tripod and act as if I'm going to shoot my usual HDR's, but instead of shooting normal exposure times I screw on my 10 stop ND and control the exposure times with the aperture. Here, I started around 15 seconds and worked my way up to around a minute by the fifth and final shot. This gives you sort of a best of both worlds effect with the blur of the clouds and still retaining the detail in the foreground. I love how this one turned out, it is exactly what I was going for.
