I know it's a digital painting, but I was wondering what type of medium would come out the most similar to this? It's a gorgous piece btw!

Hmm. I think a sort of mixed media photo-collage along with solid acrylics or oils for the strongest colors. My digital way of painting is kind of similar to the way I do mixed media traditional art pieces, but with digital pieces I actually have some amount of control XD I usually spaz out in some creative fit of crazy when painting traditionally and it ends up one big blob of color because I'm impatient.

I picked up their album on a whim earlier this year at a used CD shop. I liked the cover art. Had no idea it was gonna kick all sorts of ass. Really cool work. I love the rainbow glittery hand

this is fantastic. the defined glossy areas are gorgeous. looks like you are starting in on the "glitch" style art. is the hand on the right side part of a photo?

Yes! I actually based the image on three different photos that I sampled and then painted together. I wanted to keep the photo-feel of the hand with some painted details on it to enhance the effect of mixed media art. The glitchy effects are inspired by the video to the song I was inspired by. It was the first time I used this tecnique and it was really fun!
