Creativity is a delicate thing. For me it takes a lot, and during periods when I feel bad for various reasons I can't create anything. I stop myself before I can even begin, telling myself that I'll never accomplish anything, and that I should just give up and not bother.I bought a new sketchbook a while ago with a goal set for myself. That I will fill this sketchbook only with things that I want to do myself. Not to become a better artist or to grind skills. Not to study or force myself to work harder, quite the opposite actually. I want to gain that feeling again, that I draw and create for myself and because I love to do it.
This is the first page of that sketchbook, and I hope that I will be able to continue to fill it with things that make me happy again.. I hope you like it.

Somewhere I read that whether you love a piece of art or hate it, if it dredges up some form of emotion that you can feel down to your bones, THAT is how you know it is good art. This is hauntingly beautiful. I think you should embrace your dark side too and go just go with it because this is special.

I love both the actual image here but also your statement- it hits so close to home, personally I have been an a super frustrating art-funk for almost years now- and I do that 'talking myself out of' thing a lot. It's inspirational and comforting to know that people that I see as high above myself in terms of artistic talent/skill and whathaveyou feel and experience the same thing.

Thank you! I think it's important to keep in mind that creativity often comes to the price of other problems such as doubting yourself and giving yourself a hard time about things and I think almost every creative person struggles even though it might not show. The best thing to do is try to relax and just go on create stuff and try to fight the feeling of fear of failure. I haven't learned that yet, hopefully soon though ^__-

I mostly just ignore it and attempt to do something more productive than throw my sketchbook across the room =_=
But I think I may try something similar now, and make it about my creativity in general instead of specificly drawing or writing.. and see how that works out.. Thanks :3

I know what you mean, sometimes I'll just stare at my notebook for hours and nothing.

i think we all get that feeling at some point. I think it's important to have that separate sketchbook for yourself, kind of like alone time, your own personal diary.

Wow, this is beautiful in a way hard to describe. Wild and fragile, and also the bird reminds me of freedom along with the wind in her hair.
