I’ve been here beforeBut I’ve managed to get back here again
What I thought was nothing like what I saw.
I thought you loved me, you’d always be there
You’d hold me close, say you care
But that was all wrong.
With me, what you see is what you get,
With you it’s the opposite
You said “I’ll stay with you forever,
We’re always going to be together”
But I can see that slowly…gradually…
We’re dying.
Why you?
I ask myself
Why did I have to fall in love with you?
I now know
Love is a curse.
You want to give up, that’s easy to see
But you just don’t seem to think at all about me.
I will live life with you
It’s the only thing I can do
You know I can’t live it for you.
I love you so much, I don’t want to leave you
But you’re tearing me up inside.
Nothing’s the same anymore.
If I left you, it would be the selfish way out.
I’d only be saving myself.
But to stay with you
Is my own spirit’s suicide.
But this curse is upon me
It won’t go away
So I have to stay this way.
You’re broken.
I have no choice but to try and fix you.
Even though I know deep down you have no love for me anymore
I’m still going to try.
I love you too much to give up on you.

This probably won't help but just try to be there for him, in any way you see fit. Sadly, that's all I think you can do to help him.
