Glad you're asking!
I'm not good explain such a thing in English, Mai (; w ; ) I add links in case you're not understand it :')

That is Hijab, sometimes men are using it too! :3 You might know this kind of fashion in middle eastern~ Keffiyeh  and Turban  Hijab commonly mistaken as women's head cover, but actually not simple as that Actually the word hijab translated as, 'cover/veil for heads'. The plus of wearing it is, covering us from a sunny day.

In our belief people who aren't married yet, must wear them if they went to public places. Reason behind it?
It is one of a symbol of faith to the Almighty, besides women's hair are forbidden to seen by the others, except for our spouse (we called it 'aurat/aurah', intimate parts in Islam) so, we cover it to prevent sexual harassment or such a thing.

That's all what I can explain briefly for you!

That sounds so cool . I knew I've seen somewhere but I thought of it as a traditions nonetheless.

I find it very wholesome to protect women in your beliefs this way .

In my country, especially the family tradition we are not allowed to make direct contact with anyone ( besides close people ) .
We shake hands in formal occasions but it is rarely.

We believe that is not polite and as an attack of personal privacy ^^

I will definitely look more into hijib .

Thanks alot for explaining!

Hmm I thought those things (keffiyeh and turban) are the part of traditional outfit of middle east (because their climate tend to be more harsh and sunnier than Indonesia) but people here in my country wore it as well since it was very comfortable ^^

Ah, that kinda sound the same of it~
Meanwhile we do the 'namaste' shake hands if we're not related by blood or marriage. Shake hands only allowed between the same gender

You're welcome Mai! Glad you're understand my explanation
