Since I did the Eeveelutions, I thought about doing more pictures of Pokemon, since people seem to enjoy them. And so, I'll be starting another series of pictures: the starters! I plan on going through them by region, starting with the first set.And the first one? Charmander! I know in the games it doesn't have the markings...It was one of those things that just happened while I was painting it. Rather cute, though. And more interesting than just flat orange, in my personal opinion.
Up next will be either Bulbasaur or Squirtle.

Maybe the markings are like cub spots in lions, you can see them on infants, but they fade in a few months, by the time they are old enough to be given out to trainers as starter pokemon?
