Description
My portrait for one of the coolest redesigns any Showa-era Godzilla foe could ever receive, that of course being Gigan from "Godzilla: Final Wars" (2004).

I have mix feelings towards said film: it's a lot of fun on its own silly merits but, as a 50th anniversary celebration to the entire Godzilla film series, it should have been better, coming off like a last minute drunken house party done on the cheap in place of a proper retirement celebration for an aging elder deserved.

Gigan is an excellent example of this as he looks magnificent, an intimidating nightmare in techno-organic leather, but easily falls in battle and makes little of an impression after the first of two decapitation gags. Thankfully, extended media has given this Millennium version of Gigan a better crack at the chainsaw, so to speak
