This manip at the moment represents the way I feel. Defeat. Defeated by past memories that I don't know how to escape. Before you ask no, the horse isn't dead x] Merely too hurt and numb to get up.'Ripped upon the oceans of another minds distress ..'
I guess it fits in quite well with my situation right now that I found a Emotions Contest ^^ I am entering this piece in =arabianberry 's contest, wish me luck.
So far I'm not completly happy with this piece, I do really love it and I think it's one of my best pieces so far, it just doesn't feel finished and I can't put my finger on it. Does anyone have any suggestions or critique for me?

Cause normally there used in pictures similar to this, when something's dead, or close.
But idk that might be cliche, possibly some type of carnivore?

A small suggestion: I think that because of the very simple textures of this image, you could overlay with a low opacity Cracked Earth Gradient or something similar? I would probably erase most of it from the sky though as I don't think that part of the image needs much more work.

My suggestion is that the horse looks like it is slightly levitating, rather than laying on the ground. I think this is because of your shadowing. I think there should be a very thin, dark line right around the rim of where the horse meets the sand, and then a very soft, low opacity shadow that the rest of the body would cast. At the moment it's too dark and concentrated right under the horse. Shadows are difficult xD I dunno if I'm correct, if it was my piece I'd just fiddle until it looks realistic.
Anyhow, this really caught my eye, I'm not sure why. Nice work =]
