First time ever I did a Batman illustration! This was made for a competition and I had an absolute blast making it! I had this idea for a Batman illustration for a very long time. I envisaged an image of my all time favorite hero snapping. Now all true Batman fans know that Batman never kills. But what if… what if just once he’s been taken over by rage and cannot control his sorrow over all the people the Joker killed. And then he wraps his fingers around the Joker’s neck just slightly bit too tight… and it’s done. He crossed the line. It is over… or is it?The inspiration for the image was the work of my all time favorite Batman illustrator: Norm Breyfogle! Just very classic, nothing fancy! I hope you like it, and more importantly I hope that the enthusiasm comes through we fanboys share! Yeah! It means so much to me when people pick up on that. Death in the family is an absolute classic, so yes we can say it was. I'd rather say that it was the main reason for Batman snapping in the image and I wanted to hint that, telling a story. Thanks a lot for the comment.

This is super strong! I love the details, I can almost feel the texture of Joker's shirt. There's a real competence here with lighting, facial expression, and posing.
