Okay, so Gunpei Yokoi may not have designed all these characters himself, but he is more or less reponsible for them existing. One guess as to who the black sheep of this family is...You might recall me mentioning drawing a Wario that bore a resemblance to Bear Hugger awhile back. This is the one.

I personally adore all of Gunpei's characters (cept' Game+Watch) Some lovely childhood favorites. Pit though did make a great comeback in Uprising though.

I guess the black sheep is either Daisy or Pit.
Daisy because a lot of fans find her annoying, and she's the only one in the pic that hasn't been in Smash Bros. yet.
Pit because there has only been one Kid Icarus game so far.

Pit's actually had TWO games, but he remains the only character there who hasn't had any relevance for years. I suppose the same could be said of Mr. Game & Watch, but he had his fair share of titles and whatnot.
I think it's odd people find Daisy annoying because of one game. It's pretty amazing how that sticks. It's also odd that some people still don't know who the hell she is.

If you want. You can also call me a hypocrite, too, cause I made sure to look up when the game came out so I didn't put my foot in my mouth...I still almost did, cause I looked up the winter games first.
This sort of thing just happens way too often, where somebody will come out of the blue and point out that something isn't true, correct me about something, or point out that a certain character isn't in that big Mario cast pic I did. The thing is that it can usually be summed up as "the answer/character didn't exist yet".

Miyamoto as far as anyone knows DID create Mario and DK (the original DK arcade game was actually made while he was in Yokoi's unit).
I never really thought a lot about the matter. I would guess, even if he didn't actually design the characters, Yokoi still had some direct involvement in their creation.

Well, it's not so much that he created them as he did produce the games they were featured in. It's pretty much the same connection Miyamoto has with Mario, Link, DK, and Fox.

Ahah, I didn't know the late Yokoi san was involved in the making of Pit and Mr. G & W, tho. Fun facts! The characters are all very cute here! Even Wario too, in some way.
Mr. G & W still annoys me tho, since he's so cheap in SSBM and SSBB.

Well, they sort of give away that he was involved with Kid Icarus due to "Komaytoes"(read: Freaking METROIDS) being an enemy in the game. And when I use G&W, I use the bell as much as humanly possible. It's the mark of any TRUE G&W player.

I remember Wario's eyes and expression having a more cartoonily insane look to them...
Anyway, wonderful tribute. Yokoi was a genius, and there probably wouldn't be a DS without him since they got the idea from the Game and Watch games. I've no doubt he was a good guy, too.
