Another take at the 12 countries meme, this time with actually 12 countries.

A1-Kingdom of Romania (1881-1937): The Romanian Principalities never gain Dobruja, and remain neutral in European Affairs for half a century. The Kingdom came to a end when the Nationalists took control over the country in 1937, when Romania alligned itself with the Third German Empire.
A2-Greater Romanian Republic (1990-Present): Romania seizes all of Banat in the treaty of Trianon. It eventually loses WW2 to the Soviets and loses Bessarabia, but when the Soviet Union fell, Bessarabia joined Romania again.
A3-Königreich Rümanien (1920-1941): Romania remains in the Central Powers and gains Bessarabia from Brest-Litovsk. When Germany won the war, Romania is slowly integrated into the Europashaft, and gets the common denomination of "Königreich Rümanien" for its proximity towards Germany.

B1-Romanian Iron Guard (1942-1944): When Ion Antonescu got rid of the Iron Guard, Germany invaded and put them in power. Romania eventually fell to Soviet occupation.
B2-Union of Romanian Peoples (1946-1996): The Union of Russia invaded Romania at the end of WW2 and took Moldavia from it.
B3-Free Romanian Republic (1919-Present): The first of the "Free Republics" that the Americans started setting over Europe after both Great Wars. Lots of McDonnalds's and Walmarts.

C1-Sultanate of Romania (1587-1823): The Ottoman vassals in Romania unite into the Sultanate of Romania. The sultanate eventually leaves the Ottoman Sphere and forms and uneasy alliance against them with Austria. The Sultanate ended in 1823 with a joint Paris-Pact invasion ordered by the French Empire and Russia.
C2 Province of Dacia Magna (452-1554): The Roman Empire expands towards Northern Europe, expanding the province of Dacia.
C3-Republic of Yuzhnarus (1919-Present): OTL Wallachia and Moldavia are settled by Eastern Slavs coming from Ukraine. The region changes between Ottoman, Hungarian and Russian occupation for almost 400 years, until it finally gains independence in the Russian Civil War. The Republic is declared, and it survives to the present day.

D1-Eastern Roman Empire (356-1044): The Roman Empire is divided into West, East and South. The East comes under the rule of a Dacian dynasty until its eventual end during the Second Migration Period.
D2-Romano-Illyrian Kingdom (452-1725): The Romanians either never leave Illyria or are pushed back and set a kingdom in the region. The Kingdom is vassalized by the Franks in the 800, and later is made a protectorate of the HRE. It ended with the Illyrian Revolution in 1725.
D3-Vampire Kingdom (1444-???): The Vampires take over Transylvania and prepare to invade Europe.
