MY ARTSTATION MY BEHANCE MY INSTAGRAMHere we are guys, my little take on the reassuring face of our beloved Akira Fudo / Amon.
The ink is traditional and done with my new penbrush qp, and you can see it here
Past week I have bingewatched the remake produced by Netflix of the classic manga by Go Nagai. I have to say to be an old fan of the manga, in my opinion the best manga of Nagai, so I was quite curious about this new version...and what? Good, to me. An interesting pop schock adaptation of the classic series, the original plot of the main events itself is quite respected and the operation to modernize the context works..technically can be a bit high and low but always full of great style. and of course I have really enjoyed the work of the character artists.

ma che figata! aaah, basta, mi è venuta voglia di maratonarmela la serie. Anche se il manga l'ho iniziato secoli fa e non l'ho mai finito... Mi ero messa a leggerlo perchè Kentaro Miura aveva detto di aver preso ispirazione e io amavo alla follia Berserk (o meglio il defunto Berserk) ma il disegno mi aveva scoraggiato Però adesso me lo leggo giuro u_u

ehi vero! eheh grazie, cmq devilman il manga è un must assoluto, in termini storici una bomba..in termini estetici...assolutamente folle, oltre che essere stato derubato a piene mani da più di un autore (di cui miura è solo uno dei tanti, ma spesso puoi ritrovare lo "sguardo" di devilman in molti gatsu post apocalisse)..io ti consiglierei una lettura condensata di tre volumi in un paio di pomeriggi al massimo, oltre ad essere possibile colpisce a fondo retina e corteccia cerebrale XD
PS: eheh tutti abbiamo amato "quel" berserk

yep e infatti alla fine me lo sono letto tutto, alternandolo con l'anime. Fortunatamente ho letto prima il finale del manga. Magnificamente deprimente. E il fatto che le cose più tragiche sono molto affrettate, quasi tirate via, lo rende ancora più deprimente.
Eh, hai ragionissima, riguardo a Berserk. Mentre leggevo ho capito da dove aveva preso ispirazione Miura per il "demone" dell'armatura berserk di Gatsu... Ma anche Priest, un manwha che mi piaceva tantissimo da adolescente e che poi è rimasto inconcluso, è scopiazzato a manetta.
Anche l'anime mi è garbato, me lo aspettavo molto meno fedele da come ne parlavano e invece, a parte qualcosina, le tematiche ci sono praticamente tutte, così come gli eventi cruciali che le esplicano. Fortunatamente non è esageratamente verboso come il manga, cioè non è che sia contro gli spiegoni a prescindere, però mi è sembrato che Go Nagai fosse così ansioso di trasmettere le tematiche tanto da scordarsi di fare dei dialoghi tra personaggi decenti. Poi ovviamente è un capolavoro e bisogna contestualizzarlo negli anni in cui l'ha scritto.
Comunque c'erano talmente tanti momenti wtf nell'anime che ho riso in maniera nevrotica tantissime volte XD

hahaha omadonna, e ba beh a tutti la propria opinione, però se deve blastarlo spero che sia perchè ha ottime argomentazioni e non un generico "a me non piace" e in più spero che si ricordi di contestualizzarlo nella sua epoca, oggi la gente tende sempre a scordare che le film, fumetti e libri sono figli del loro tempo! sperèm! peccato che non ci sarò per la live stasera. La recupererò come al solito in differita XD, cmq sempre divertentissime le live XD

ahahah i get what you mean, but i have taken this detail as one of the "grotesque" exaggerations of the anime, in some way if you think about it, this thing fits all the rest of the product..or at least is my pov, and in some way this was also the subtitle of the opera..it makes sense! XD

yes but actually the ending (similar to the original manga) is the bittersweet perfect ending to this story, I have always enjoyed it since the first time i read the manga!

I haven't seen the new one but I'm familiar with the older ones (though it's kinda been a long while); it was a bit bleaker than I enjoyed if memory serves.

Well, actually since you're mentioning it's from 70's, it actually sounds appealing. I may not be huge fan of anime or manga, but I do like it's style from the 70's, 80's or 90's rather than current aesthics.
Could you just give me some general info on what it's about?

it's the story of two guys, one really smart and the other very kind, it's a story of demons, devils and angels, it's a story on the human nature and or best/worst sides...and yes, a lot of blood

hehe i did read devilman for the first time...20 ys ago? I was 15 more or less...cult opera. and I keep as a treasure my italian version in 3 big volumes A4 size
