I also thought this was two images before I full viewed it. Fantastic illusion and wicked composition! The elvish descriptor added an extra layer to the image for me. Very well done!

First i had the impression it was two images in one. Then seeing it in larger format i realized it's the same picture. The border of the white of the snow is perfect, straight and horizontal, it's beautiful in an abstract way, like a suprematist painting. And then there's the atmosphere once you get behind the main strong shapes, and something more fragile emerges. With still strength and power. The bewildered animal in front of the almost surreal light from the world beyond, cowering but looking and not running away. Perhaps even seeing beauty beyond fear. I really love this. You manage to make deeply moving images and this is very precious. And they also have a poetic beauty which i find unique.
